October in the Hudson Valley is the one of the most popular months for weddings because of the prime fall foliage. Julia and John picked Bear Mountain for their wedding which is one of my favorite area of the Hudson Valley to view the foliage, especially at the top of Bear Mountain where Perkins Memorial Tower is. We took the bridal party and bride and groom photos there at sunset which shows the beautiful glowy light and views that you can sometimes see the New York City skyline.
The girls started the day at the sweetest AirBnb home that Julia’s family rented for the weekend. The girls all wore matching maroon pajamas that matched their bridesmaids dresses (always a win in my book!) and one my favorite moments was when Julia got dressed with her mom– tears were flowing! The guys got ready at the venue, Bear Mountain Overlook Lodge, where all of the groomsmen received different funky socks from John and had a few of their favorite Coney Island beers and then everyone headed to the church. John’s reaction to seeing Julia walk down the aisle has been by far my best groom reaction to date!
At the top of the mountain we took some of the prettiest photos (my favorite of the day) despite a bit of wind that almost blew us away when we reached the top! Everyone danced the night away which also included some major jam sessions to the Backstreet Boys where the DJ let guests take the mic and take turns each verse which was epic. We ended the night with an outdoor cake cutting, followed by a bonfire with s’mores and a sparkler send-off.
